Founded by Catherine and Dave Ferraresi, our store was inspired by the couple’s time living in Europe, where tasting fresh oils and vinegars before purchasing is a common and celebrated experience. That same “taste, savor, and enjoy” philosophy -reflected in the Italian word gustare- continues to define our shop today.
A couple of years ago, Gustare Gourmet moved just down the road to a beautiful new location at 400 Main Street, in the quaint and historic Chatham, Massachusetts. The move allowed our shop to settle into a bright, welcoming space while remaining right in the heart of the village.
The relocation also solved one of the biggest challenges of downtown shopping: parking. Our new location offers ample on-site parking as well as convenient nearby lots, making it easier than ever for visitors to stop in, browse and sample our latest selections.
Inside the shop, guests can explore a wide range of fresh imported extra virgin olive oils and traditionally aged balsamic vinegars source from around the world, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, and beyond. Dave and Catherine regularly travel to olive-growing regions to follow the harvest and ensure the highest quality products for their customers. Many oils are bottled fresh and paired with vinegars aged up to 18 years in barrels from Modena, Italy, that allows chefs of any level to elevate their cooking.
Beyond oils and vinegars, Gustare Gourmet also offers pantry items, gift sets and recipe ideas that make the store a favorite stop for food lovers and gift shoppers alike.
