PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOKING TIME: 5-10 minutes
SERVES/YIELD: 12-14 cups
BEWARE: Pesto Pop may…no, WILL, disappear faster than you can make it. Keep an eye out for snatchers, and be sure to keep a stash for yourself!
- 4 tbsp. Gustare Pesto Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus 4 tbsp. to drizzle
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tbsp. Gustare Parmesan Blend Seasoning
- Cape Cod Sea Salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Heat 4 tbsp. Gustare Pesto Extra Virgin Olive Oil in 3-4 qt. sauce pot over medium high heat.
Add 4 kernels of popcorn to hot oil. Cover loosely with foil. Allow all 4 kernels to pop.
Add remaining kernels to pot. Cover and remove from heat for 30 strong seconds.
Return to heat. Adjust foil to allow small amount of steam to escape from pot, while being sure to keep popcorn inside. This will yield crispier popcorn.
Agitate pot constantly as kernels pop.
Remove from heat once popping slows to several seconds between pops.
Pour popcorn into serving bowl. Drizzle with remaining Gustare Pesto Extra Virgin Olive Oil, add Gustare Parmesan Blend Seasoning, followed by sea salt and pepper. Toss to evenly distribute. Enjoy…while it lasts!
